Ladys and gentleman - this is it! This is the mobile roguelike ive been looking for for years now. Oldschoolish graphics , great system , Runs smoothly, semi random (floors get randomly generated but the "stage/settingis static) , great items and a good bit of difficulty without beeing unfair. Low battery usage on top! I was extremely happy when i found this Game a while ago. The Game even received an update recently which tevamped the vision system , Monster Ai etc. for further Information about that Check the Details Page. Sadly (and this is the reason why im not giving 5 Stars) the Patch increased the battery usage a Little bit and also came with some bugs -> Had to forfeit a good run because the game crashed everytime my character would have takem damage ( which is Quite hard to evade as a warrior) but still the patch came with way more positives then negatives and i will Raise it to 5 stars if a hotfix comes out :)

This is a great game for roguelike fans, its not quite as feature filled as Rogue Touch or iNethack, but the developer seems to be commitee to updating the game regularily. As is it already feels complete, and I actually like the feel of the game more than any other roguelike on the iPhone. It really shows it was designed from the ground up for the iPhone. Great retro/pixel art graphics also. Controls are solid. More updates, more random, more items, and more animation for the enemies and the game will be better. But as is I am happy.

Great game. I love the graphics and the game plays very well. However there is a very annoying bug which had be loose my progress entirely many times. If this bug gets fixed, I will play this game daily.

This game combines old school hack n slash with the requirement for attention to detail. The finite resources in this environment force you to use items carefully or die. Enemies that pursue you in the caverns create actual danger. This game has the same type of feel as many of the text adventures (MUDs) that I used to play over telnet and I quite appreciate the nostalgic feeling that it gives me. Items are fun to discover and the global high scores list adds some competition.

Very nice crawler, worth the price. random generated dungeons look really coherent, as coherent as if they were not randomly generated but scripted. awesome job, high replayability

It plays well (when on the tap direction setting) and could be improved only by a guidance system (Possibly a tutorial and a guide and mission objectives screen; even though that might be straying a little away from traditional crawlers it would be innovative for a crawler and make it easier for people new to the genre). Recommended for crawler fans although its too difficult for people new to the genre. To experience a free version of cavern try iNethack; its similar but less well polished. It needs a few bug fixes. It crashes a lot like I youre interrupted during the game you may lose your progress when you attempt to resume Also game center features would be nice. The old leader boards dont work anymore. Otherwise Im addicted and I love it

Ive had as much fun with this game as with RPGs on the PC… absolutely fantastic. even more enjoyable on the iPad. finally realized you can overlay map to always see it which is a huge plus.. only thing i would add if an update is in the future is an ability to map the buttons. for example i would prefer the auto attack button to be on the right side as well as the inventory somewhere other than top left corner. i guess this is a bigger issue on the iPads bigger screen but if we could hold down to drag icons it would be awesome

Perfect pacing, intuitive gameplay - Just play this gem !

Played on iPhone 4S. Fun and Addictive, plays like a third person turn based action RPG. I died about 40 times before I beat the game. The focus is to find hidden rooms and save your loot to buy better loot in order to beat the game. Removed the app about five times and kept coming back. Developers: Make more maps! As you go deeper, you should have new markets or cities as you get bored of the first one you start in. All NPCs should be able to purchase your items, some a better prices specific to their class. The last three levels seemed to have the same difficulty as I was a missile class with great items. Fun game, more levels please!

With the latest update, the game feels even better than before. The new enemies, terrain and added animations help spruce up the title.

I buy tons of games and I have to say that this is in my top 3 games. easy enough to pick up and play but complex enough to make it skill based. Everything fits together great, hopefully someday it gets the recognition it deserves - 5Star

Reminds me of nethack / rogue but with diablo influences (town portals, shops, etc). Very fun dungeon crawler, highly recommended if you enjoy the genre. Dev updates frequently as well. New update sept 2015 rocks! Please make cavern II :)

One bug I noticed though is sometimes when my adventurer shoots arrows, graphic tiles other than arrows appear, such as spears, double-arrows, or the bow itself.

Nice overhaul of the game, its one of the classics. Super fun to play, even more fun now. :-) If you are a fan of RPGs and enjoy a really sweet distraction, you should download this game. Thanks again for the update, great job. :-)

This game has a ton of depth and with all the content added and expanded upon the original release, it has become a great experience. Everything fits very well together: Leveling up - increase stats 3 different classes Random dungeons Tons of loot Special weapons & armor Leader boards New Kings room for special perks I was a beta tester and the weekly leaderboards keep me coming back. All in all a great experience and an addictive dungeon crawler with excellent turn based combat.

I dont ever write reviews but this game is worth it! A real gem, love the perma-death!

Fun game love roguelikes, hope they update it more but not needed. Anyone interested should try it

A very streamlined and accessible roguelike. The developer is continually making improvements and I havent encountered any bugs on the latest version. The caverns are unique and interesting. It is simpler than some rogue likes and deeper than others. I look forward to what the developer does next with it.
